I was at the dentist back in the good old Bronx. My dad came to watch my 3 year old in the waiting room. When I came out, my dad was talking to a gentleman  he introduced as Dave Finnerty. It just so happens Mr. Finnerty trained my dad when he started on the buses as a driver and they were in the same garage for years! I asked him if he was related to Dave Finnerty from Spellman and he said it was his son. I assume that it is you Dave, right? I told my mom that if my dad had come to more Spellman events we would have discovered this connection 20 years ago!

The time is flying by here at the old Citadel on the Hill. I'm getting my juniors prepared for their SATs in a little over two weeks and then the Regents follow afterwards. This year's graduating class were among my first students when I started three years ago. They drove me nutty as sophomores, but I'm proud to say that many of them have matured and are moving on to bigger and better things. And then I see how the adventure is just beginning for my freshmen. They've made it through this year, but they still have a long way to go. I remember one of the last days of classes my first year teaching here. I had a freshmen homeroom and this senior I knew stopped in to say good-bye to me. He looked over at the kids and said, "Enjoy it while it lasts. It goes by so fast."

It did and it still does.

A Sad Passing...

On February 28th, Gladys Diaz, mother of Omar Diaz, passed away at the age of 70. She was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her passing. Our condolences go out to Omar and the Diaz family.

The Boys

I thought I'd cheer myself up as both Eddie and Mikey are down sick. Eddie has a stomach virus and it turns out Mikey has an infection in his ear and throat. Here's a recent snap from a visit to the Danbury Rail Museum and their Easter Bunny. Mikey took a real liking to the Easter Bunny.

Keith and some famous and semi-famous and infamous people at I-Con 26

At I-Con 26 (held every spring at Stony Brook University), I was one of several guests on the radio show Destinies: The Voice of Science Fiction on WUSB, the university's radio station. After the show, most of us lined up for a photo.

Left to right: Actress Claudia Christian (Ivanova on Babylon 5), singer Adam Goss, me, actor Dean Haglund (Langley on The X-Files and The Lone Gunmen), author (and my fiancée) Terri Osborne, Destinies host Dr. Howard Margolin, author Aaron Rosenberg, and author/webmster Glenn Hauman.

I put up a post in my LiveJournal that includes the covers to all the books I've either written or contributed to that will be out in 2007, with only one exception (that being the cover for my novelization of Resident Evil: Extinction, which doesn't have a final cover yet).

Here's the post in question. Check it out!
