So I went to Visitation school's 75th anniversary celebration as I graduated there in 82. I discovered that one of my students at Spellman graduated from Visi in 04. I also found out that the director of development at Spellman has a daughter who graduated from there. I had to do a double take as I saw her taking pictures. I'm used to seeing her at Spellman events. The biggest surprise came though when I saw Sister Dermety (sp?) there. She taught math in our day and was forever mangling Rachel Drosopolous's first name, pronouncing it "racial". She teaches advanced math to selected students at Visitation now in the hopes that they can move on to a higher math class when they get to high school.

Hey, everyone.

 So, I've started a community service society at Spellman because there is a huge void in that area.  The kids really need to get out in the community and interact with people who do not have the same blessings as they do.

 If any of you are involved with community outreach either through your church or whatever and are in need of volunteers, please let me know.  We are looking to have 4 service events this year.  Our first one will involve the Children's Hospital at Montefiore Hospital.

I won a package of 70's and 80's DVD sets at my Spellman's silent auction last weekend and I'm not interested in keeping The Rockford Files Season Four or Miami Vice Season Five. Judy Furnari informed me this afternoon that Christina Holness of our class passed away this month. According to Judy, she died of natural causes in her sleep.

She is survived by the following who are all Spellman graduates:
-- Anna Holness Dixon (sister)
-- Malcolm Dixon (brother-in-law)
-- David Holness (brother)
-- Vielka Holness (sister)
