Spellman Service Society Cleans Up City Island Beach

On October 4, 2008, myself and the Service Society helped a neighborhood on City Island clean up a filthy beach.

The kids worked their butts off.  I am sooooooo proud of them.

I met a good portion of the Spellman Class of '12.  That's right 2012.  They're a pretty short bunch, but they seem pretty nice.

The troublesome field isn't quite finished, so Freshman Field Day will be in October while the sophomores and juniors take the PSAT.

For those of you with school-aged children, good luck this week.

OK,

I know most of us turn 40 this year, some last year and maybe even a few next year (Youngsters).

How are you marking or marked the date?

I just spent time with the Family and had diner out. You?

Just taking a minute to let everyone know, (there is still someone reading this right?) that I have taken a new Job.

I am now the Director of Information Technology at a marketing firm called Agent16 (www.agent16.com).

I get to handle all the tech and also get to be client facing when we work on digital projects (Web stuff).

Very cool spot and I am now working downtown, 16th and Fifth Ave.

If you can, call 212-371-1011. It's the number for the Archdiocese of NY. Ask for the education department. Then ask when they intend on giving the Lay Faculty Association a fair deal, not the one they offered.

THANKS.

Just to let everyone know, the Archdiocese has stopped negotiating with us, so John and I are on strike today and tomorrow.

We just want a just wage (Our highest paid teachers only make $52,000 a year.) and a modest increase in health premiums.  We shouldn't have to pay for the medical benefits of the priests and nuns.

If any of you are in a union, we'd appreciate your support.  Let your union reps know what we're struggling for.
